Purpose:

Responsible for the prospecting, developing and marketing to targeted accounts within a specified territory. Establish new accounts and service existing accounts all in an effort to achieve (at a minimum) agreed to territory sales quota and grow targeted turf. This is a highly active customer facing position requiring significant time 'in the field and on the road' pursuing orders and selling products.  Will report into the National Sales Manager

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Develops and manages profitable relationships with organization's target accounts
  • Prepares annual territory sales forecasts and participates in the determination of market potential and in preparation of sales expense estimates for the territory
  • Provide a consistent forecast on monthly and quarterly revenue expectations.
  • Has a clear understanding of the product portfolio to be able to professionally sell to the customer base and provide solutions to customer needs within the correct market.
  • Create an organizational behavior focused on defining customer needs, strategic direction and selling Suttle products and solutions while developing long term customers.
  • Participates in product training to continue the enhancement of product knowledge
  • Provides detailed upcoming week meeting schedule and activity report to National Sales Manager
  • Participates in all required team conference calls
  • Works closely with internal customer service team and utilizes the team in an efficient manner
  • Participates in the recruitment, selection and training of rep firms and distribution partners
  • Monitors competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products and sale to market techniques
  • Confers with immediate superior in the development of marketing policy, recommending product and product line revisions as well as pricing changes
  • Engage in technical solutions with clients through alignment with product management, sales and marketing by utilizing company marketing tools to educate and promote the company's products and solutions.
  • Capture detailed information about accounts and opportunities in the company's CRM database
  • Develop a base line knowledge of all competitors' product offering and how to position Suttle products and solutions as superior to the competition.

  • Ability to learn Telecommunications Standards and Practices.
  • Strong verbal, written presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a territory sales team, with minimal supervision.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field preferred such as finance, management, marketing or three to five years' sales or account management experience
  • Experience working with Telecom / Cable / MSO providers, Electrical or building contractors
  • Familiar with a variety of territory sales concepts, practices and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field preferred such as finance, management, marketing or five plus years sales or account management experience
