Purpose:

Assemble various telephone parts, components and connectors, partially or completely, working at a bench, table or on shop floor. Work in accordance with documented company procedures and addressing the ISO standards.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Position parts by following blueprints, routings and task instructions and/or according to instructions from Assembly Lead/line coach.
  • During the assembly process employee will be required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Employee will be required to reach with hands or arms and regularly lift above head and/or move/lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Work shall be completed in an efficient and timely manner-observing company standards
  • Connect parts with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets/fasteners, and soldering equipment.
  • Operate various machines or hand tools to assist in the assembly operation.
  • Work with line coach for daily assignments and completion of daily paperwork accurately; includes timesheets, cover sheets tag outs and blue sheets
  • Computer skills necessary to access label files and bag files; must be able to access data with ease
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following company procedures.
    • Responsible for daily housekeeping of work center includes restocking of excess components, pallet storage and placing empty cartons in the proper place.
    • Apply proper usage of equipment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Nature & Scope: 

  • Reports to position. Sr Production Manager Assembler Lead
  • No direct responsibility for supervising others.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Able to use small machines, hand tools, parts, soldering irons, testers, automated machines, calipers, computer
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work as a team member

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Hand-eye coordination, mathematical skills and reasoning ability, read and write English
  • Good attendance is essential     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 4-5 years production experience
