Purpose:

Work closely with product managers and marketing teams to provide product positioning and communication of product vision.  This position works with the marketing team to create product launch campaigns by creating content, presentations, videos and the necessary tools to communicate the product vision to the sales team and customers.  Provide the sales team tools, resources & training and lead product launch presentations to the sales team.  The candidate has skills in products, marketing and is an excellent communicator that is at the intersection of sales, product management and marketing successfully growing revenue and market share.

 

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Cross-functional partner that works closely with Product Management & Marketing teams to uncover customer insights, gather customer feedback and be the voice of the customer internally to properly promote product lines
  • Be the key driver to build a cohesive relationship between Sales, Marketing and Product Management teams
  • Provide Sales with the value proposition and product line knowledge by creating materials to include product positioning statements, consistent messaging and competitive talking points
  • Be a key partner with Marketing regarding trade shows and distribution locations to include brand specific product displays and product positioning
  • Coordinate and drive the use of competitive research to better understand the market, customers and competitive landscape.  Use these results to drive actionable strategies for the go to market process
  • Provide Sales with demonstration kits to be used for trade shows, customer visits and training
  • Ability to collaborate with partners and form partnerships with key technology partners to support the product lines
  • Work closely with Marketing to proofread marketing documents for specification accuracy and proper messaging
  • Work closely with Product Management & Marketing on customer case studies supporting the marketing plan with the goal of shortening the sales cycle and increasing sales conversion rates
  • Work with Product Management & Engineering teams identifying and driving cost reduction initiatives
  • Adhere to company internal processes by documenting, tracking and communicating the correct process throughout the organization
  • Work within the department to help develop company goals, objectives, policies & procedures.  Recommend strategies for improvement and drive reports and data to make improved decisions on department effectiveness
  • Other duties as necessary to support corporate strategy and objectives

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization departments and lead cross-functional teams toward a common objective
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and a keen attention to details taking calculated risks and getting things done
  • Effective balance of both analytical and creative thinking skills to uncover, measure, create and communicate the key strong points and differentiators of the product lines
  • Energetic and persuasive presentation skills with a sound understanding of marketing tools used for product marketing
  • Experience conducting marketing analysis and using the data to help guide the product roadmap
  • Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task and manage complex projects at the same time while demonstrating efficiency of time for yourself and other departments
  • Professional presence with excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to interact and communicate to a wide audience
  • A customer focused mindset and ability to be attentive and responsive to the needs of customers
  • Knowledge of Copper & Fiber networks and Outside Plant fiber telecommunications and/or networking industry preferred

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering or related technical degree with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in technical product marketing or combination of education and experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using IFS CRM and ERP system
  • Passion for technology and strong technical expertise
  • Previous experience in areas of copper & fiber networks
  • Working with International teams a plus
  • Lean manufacturing & Six Sigma practices experience & knowledge a plus
  • Data analytics experience a plus
  • Intellectual property (trademarks, patents) experience a plus
  • MBA or equivalent

 

Environmental, Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time at trade shows.  During trade show set-up, the ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • General office environment conditions
  • May require ground travel within major metropolitan and rural areas
  • Air travel as needed up to 25% travel
